The Story Behind My Song

a One-Woman Storytelling & Song Show

"Her presentation was superb entertainment. We gave her standing ovations at the end of her presentation."

— Lorraine Van Wagner, Speakers' Chairman Women Probus of Caledon East, ON

Growing up as a child performer in communist Romania, Angelica Ganea was a 24-year old Pop/Musical Theatre rising star when she made the life changing move to Canada. Persistence and self-discipline have been her closest companions over the next 28 years, as she embarked on a journey of healing her heart and re-discovering her passion for music and writing. While studying Fitness at Seneca College in Toronto, Angelica never stopped her vocal training and music education. It was in 2019 that it came full circle, when she was asked to do a talk about her life journey. Reluctant at the idea, she put together a one-woman show titled The Story Behind My Song. In this storytelling and song presentation, Angelica takes her audiences with wit, humor and candor on a fascinating ride, ending with an unexpected powerful message and a lesson for us all: "You shared with us a fascinating life journey and managed to redefine success for us all.", said Doreen Scott-Dunne, Program Director at Central Peel Mixed Probus Group of Canada. The feedback and testimonials are steadily positive (see more testimonials below).

Angelica is the recipient of the Award of Excellence from Can-Pak Chamber of Commerce Canada, for breaking cultural barriers through singing. In 2010 she wrote and produced her first original English music album titled Remember Who You Are, followed by Classical album Sacred (2015), Christmas (2018), I Believe (2024) and a number of singles. She is the author of 3 books: Remember Who You Are (2010), Habits Rule You (2017) and children's book Love Is Light (2020), which she also illustrated. In 2021 Angelica released original song We Will Overcome (written by Giuseppe Mileto) for which, aside from performing, she produced the vocals of the 50 participating international singers.
